Backup disasters! We’ve all heard the horror stories or experienced the repercussions of critical data being lost because it wasn’t backed up properly or reliably.

You’ve probably done your due diligence to ensure that the data on your computer is thoroughly backed up on a regular basis… but what about your website? Unfortunately, bad things happen: websites are hacked, infected with malware, corrupted, and sometimes you unintentionally mess things up, but it shouldn’t paralyse or stop your business!

People invest thousands of dollars to have their websites developed, spend hundreds of hours adding content, and work hard to build their online reputation, with little or no thought of how this valuable asset is being protected. They do not have a backup strategy in place.

Many people just rely upon their hosting service for backup. This may give them some peace of mind, but more often than not hosting backups prove to be unreliable.

Why?

  • Your hosting company may NOT provide regular backups for your site. At best, this would mean recovering to an old, outdated website and losing your latest content.
  • You may not be able to restore a single site from hosting company backups without restoring all sites in your account. In this case a backup recovery would result in all of your websites being outdated.
  • You won’t be notified if the backups fail, so you’ll never know if they’ll actually be there if or when you need them.
  • You’ll be at the mercy of your hosting company if you ever need to restore from backup. They may not be as responsive as you think they should be.
  • Hosting backups are often not suitable for WordPress.

Hosting backups may be better than no backups at all, but we believe you need more. That’s why we offer the WP-Maintenace Packages.

Each month we do an entire backup of your WordPress website, including all text, images, self-hosted videos, theme files, plugins and any other customizations that you have made to your site. A .zip archive that is an exact copy of your website is transferred over encrypted SSL and stored on a secure server. This gives you the added advantage of an off-site backup if your hosting company goes down.
